Heating your conservatory during the winter can extend its
use and help you make the most out of the investment you have
made in your conservatory.
There are a number of options to consider and your choice
will be determined by the use you put your conservatory to.
If you plan to use your conservatory every day, each evening
and cost is not an issue for you then central heating is a
good choice.
If you plan to make use of your conservatory when you feel
like it and prefer not to waste money needlessly then you
will want a more versatile and efficient option.
Electric heating offers a number of significant advantages:
Instant warmth
Low cost equipment
Controllability of heating appliance
Flexibility to move portable heaters anywhere else in
the house
A range of different styles
Total freedom for heat positioning
Radiant Panel Heating
A radiant system can offer energy savings of up to 40 percent.
It's also quieter, cleaner and more efficient than forced
air heating systems.
As radiant heat does not burn oxygen it therefore reduces
condensation and dust movement.
By controlling both the air temperature and the radiant transfer,
radiant panel systems deliver a comfort that is unsurpassed.
The sun is the biggest radiant heater
and as a result radiant heat is the most natural form of heat
known to man.

Convection Heating
A convection system is the transport of heat within the air.
The heat travels upwards with the natural upward movement
of air.
A convection heater relies on the natural or forced air passing
over an extremely hot electrical element
before forcing the heated air out into the conservatory environment.
Infra Red Heaters
Traditionally heat rushes out and cold air enters whenever
doors are opened in a conservatory.
Because infra red heaters only warm people and objects and
not the air in between, they overcome this problem whilst
maximising comfort and minimising waste.
Infra red heaters produce instant heat at the flick of a switch
and offer a convenient, effective, safe and silent form of
heating people and objects within a conservatory environment.
Also, because the heat does not blow away
or out they are perfect for external use in gardens and on
patios etc.
Oil Filled Radiators
Oil is heated by an electrical element and the conservatory
environment is warmed by natural convection with no forced
air movement.
With a totally enclosed heating element, the designs are very
safe, reliable and do not dry the air like some convection
heaters. Traditionally a popular choice.
